The Washington Post recently recognized Mound Westonka as one of America’s Most Challenging high schools.
Just 11 percent of the 22,000 U.S. public high schools managed to earn placement on the list, and MWHS was one of only 29 Minnesota schools to make the cut.
MWHS jumped 67 spots in the national rankings from 2014. The school is now ranked 25th in Minnesota and is in the top 7 percent of U.S. schools.
“Being nationally ranked on the Washington Post’s ‘America’s Most Challenging High Schools’ list is a result of our high school’s focus on college readiness,” said Westonka Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Mark Femrite. “It is something the high school faculty and the district prioritize and value.”
